Why now?
We are living through a cultural moment where we are more digitally interconnected than ever, yet experiencing unprecedented levels of psychological and social disconnect.
We live the illusion of community, blurring the lines between real life and digital fiction. A severe lack of vulnerable conversations.
Who’s behind it?
PEDRATOPIA Collective is a not-for-profit growing community of artists, designers and creatives, aiming to create inspiring, curated environments to bring together artists and designers from diverse backgrounds, showcase their visual art, create new connections, and promote cultural pride and collaboration within the broader creative community.
Your artwork on the wall
For The Design Party, PEDRATOPIA is curating a digital showcase featuring Brisbane-based visual artists from all walks of life. Selected artworks will be projected onto a massive wall for all to enjoy.
Whether you’re an animator, motion designer, cinematographer, graphic designer, photographer, or illustrator, all art is welcome.
Send us a piece and we will be in touch.

Got questions?
Email us at - hello@pedratopia.com
Is the event BYO?
Yep, BYO. Bring your drink of choice and we’ll supply the ice. Alcohol is 18+ only, so don’t forget your ID.
Who is this event for?
Anyone who makes things move, look or feel good. Animators, motion designers, cinematographers, graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, and everyone in between. It’s an end-of-year gathering where Brisbane’s artists, designers and AV creatives finally get in the same room. Coming solo? Most people will be, and that’s kind of the point.
How do I get there?
The Design Party is at Vacant Assembly (266 Montague Rd) in West End, Brisbane. There’s a bus stop nearby and plenty of street parking, but if you’re planning to have a drink, leave the car at home.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Vacant Assembly is wheelchair accessible, and there’ll be plenty of seating throughout the venue. If things get a bit much, the Chill Zone is there for you to take a breather whenever you need. If you have a specific access need, please email us at hello@pedratopia.com
Where does my ticket money go?
Back into the community. We cover the costs of running the night and every dollar of profit goes toward funding the next event. Your ticket isn’t just an entry for this one, it’s how the next one happens.
How can I get involved?
PEDRATOPIA Collective is just getting started, and we’ve got big dreams. Want to volunteer, partner, or pitch an idea? Email us at hello@pedratopia.com and let’s chat.
How do I hear about future events?
Easy. Buy a ticket and you’re in the loop for good (or until you unsubscribe). Can’t make this one? Follow us on Instagram @pedratopia so you don’t miss out.
Is this a kid-friendly event?
Absolutely. It’s never too early to inspire the next generation. Little ones are welcome (as long as they stay with a grown-up) and they don’t need their own ticket.
Will there be photos or filming?
We’ll have a photographer and videographer capturing the night so we can share the magic afterwards. If you’d rather stay off camera, that’s totally ok, just let them know. Bringing kids? We won’t share photos of little ones online. And to all the creatives with cameras: shoot away, but please ask before you photograph someone up close.
